PRESENTER PROFILES:

MARY MCDONALD “I am interested in posing poetry narrative against and within layers of sound, silence, image, video. I work in layers — visual, movement and aural layers and layers of symbolism and metaphor. My work considers the tensions between personal voice and story and the possibilities of the digital visual to suggest and reinforce false narratives and/or to create understandings through metaphor.”

DAVE BONTA has been publishing Moving Poems, a compendium of poetry videos from around the web since 2009. Dave’s own videopoems have been screened at festivals and exhibitions around the world. He’s currently seven years into a decade-long project to make erasure poems out of every entry in the Diary of Samuel Pepys, sharing the results on his long-running literary blog Via Negativa.

“What I’d most like to do is try to get poets excited about making videos and/or collaborating with filmmakers.
