Once again, Houston Public Library has produced a great brochure to distribute throughout the library system, circulating out to the far reaches of our city.  This series, organized by Public Poetry, is one of many time-worthy activities offered at the library, all free, all ages.  Come for an entertaining afternoon of poetry, promptly at 2PM, Saturday, October 6, at Vinson Neighborhood Library.  See you there!

Fall is a great time to visit museums.  At The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, all the ARTlines poems, recorded by the poets, are on a MFAH audio cell tour.  In fact, they can be heard at anytime, anywhere, by dialing 713-481-2813 and following the prompts.  See if you can spot the museum wall labels for ARTlines; (the MFAH ARTlines Gallery Guide will make that a lot easier!) The MFAH also printed the poems with the art as a resource book for teachers, parents and students to check out from the MFAH’s Kinder Foundation Education Library.  Public Poetry is proud to have initiated this project to include poetry in this important and vibrant museum.

The Front Row, heard on 88.7 FM and 91.7 FM is where everyone tunes in to hear about upcoming arts events, whether it’s music, dance, theater, art or poetry.  Insightful interviews and samplings of talent from the best of the cultural scene make this Must Listen radio.  Mike Alexander and Janet Lowery will be recorded the first week in October, airing either Wed (Oct. 3) or Thurs. (Oct. 4)  at noon in advance of their reading at Vinson Neighborhood Library on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 2 PM.  Enjoy!
